Ion Concert Media of Minneapolis, MN and Midwest Sheet Music of Maryland Heights, MO have announced a new distribution agreement which will see Ion products offered for sale through the Midwest Sheet Music catalog.
This new distribution agreement will provide Midwest Sheet Music with a unique new product line that is quickly growing in popularity while Ion Concert Media will enjoy broader access to its key market.
Midwest Sheet Music has been serving music educators with a large selection of print music for band, choir and orchestra for the past 23 years. Owner Kyle Cronan, along with Jeff Girard and the rest of the staff, run an operation that is known for service, selection and a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Ion Concert Media is the developer of Muséik (mew ZAY ik), a revolutionary software platform that allows ensembles to synchronize digital media to their live performance with no click tracks or other restrictive techniques. Used around the world by musicians from junior high to the largest symphony orchestras, Muséik behaves just like another instrumentalist on stage and allows the conductor the freedom to select any tempo. Ion has also developed the Ion Content Library, a library of pre-licensed and rentable digital content designed specifically for live performances.
The idea for a partnership between the two companies was forged in 2019 at the annual Midwest Band Clinic in Chicago when Ion CEO Scott Winters met with Midwest Sheet Music's Wind Band and Instrumental Specialist Jeff Girard. The conversation had to be sidelined during the global pandemic, but talks resumed in spring 2021. Now that the agreement is in place both organizations look forward to a long and beneficial association.
